An aspiration to Love beyond illusions, beyond attachments, and beyond the ego-clinging.

Introduction.

How to Love when one has to be free from illusory delusions, from attachments and clinging?

I do not know, but I think & try as best as i can. I aspire to understand the Enlightened Love, and to practice and prepare to practice the Enlightened, the Unconditional Love.

My current understanding is described in this article, I hope that my understanding will deepen and improve as time passes.

Definitions.

Beings differ from Phenomena in that beings have mind (having mind means that beings are mind and have bodies), while phenomena do not have mind.

Understanding the illusory nature of beings and phenomena means understanding that they/these will keep changing forms. This means that beings and phenomena will arise (be born), change and pass away (die). This process will keep repeating and continuing until one reaches Enlightenment, or so I think.

Time between death and rebirth is called: 'Bardo'.

Word: 'Bardo' literally means: 'between two', but - in buddhism at least - it often means one's state between death and rebirth, in short. (there are many bardo states, including: 'bardo of dying', 'bardo of meditation', 'bardo of dream', and more).

Attachment and clinging can refer to being enslaved/obsessed with someone's/something's current state, current form.

Emptiness of all beings and phenomena meanst that everything is nonpermanent, that everything changes and has 'illusory nature'.

How to be free of ego-attachment?

I think that one should understand the passing nature of one's ego, understand that one changes constantly. One should not cling to one's 'current form'. I think - but i have serious doubts on that still, so check by Yourself please - that one's body is part of the mind, that one's ego affects how one experiences body as existing in the current state, current form.

How to Love without clinging?

I think one should practice the Unconditional Love, the Enlightened Love that 'Has the Taste of Freedom'.

I think one should fight for Love instead of forcing a partner to be together with the 'other half' against his/her will.

I think that one should accept if/when a partner wishes to leave - either for a short while or for longer.

I think one should accept that Loved one will age and die, and accept that current forms will change, including the acceptance that partner's beauty will pass away with age.

One can still strive to be lover or a friend again, either in this or in next lives, I think.

I think that one should see a partner as mature person, as one who is liberated from ego, and should aspire for self-liberation as well.

Ego War.

Meditation reduces ego, makes us more think of others, less of ourselves.

Goal is to defeat ego, to reach Liberation, then Enlightenment.

When we think of others more, we become altruists, we forget about ourselves, our egos become altruistic.

It gradually progressess, we just follow our insights, try to help others - fulfilling needs appearing in mind.

It's addicting & tricky feeling, it can reach stage where ego's needs to help others to become better make us become our own enemies - we forget of ourselves too much & destroy our lives by unreasonable behaviour.

Ego's reductionist tendencies accelerate, it becomes anti-ego - self destruction mechanism in ourselves.

When it goes too far, we might 'wake up' - start to wonder what is ego, what is not.

Then thought in mind appears telling us: 'Be that way. Use Your own Mind'.

We start caring for ourselves more, after reducing harmful & self-destructive habits, becoming stronger in the process - with less of self-harm tendencies in mind.

But our lives need to be rebuilt, we caused damage by unreasonable behaviour already.

Too much of meditation might be harmful, might cause self-destruction - one should follow Lama's Advices to survive & prosper.

Alone it's much harder, but insights help with that anyway.

Just went through that stage, not sure how long it lasted - it was like a trance, a 'war trance' against my own ego.

Countering Ego.

Introduction.

Ego is relentless opponent, but can be defeated utterly - that's one of the goals of Buddhism.

Arguably it's one's own ego, but i think that no one exists in separation, that thoughts & feelings can be shared.

Experiences & Insights.

i've experienced 'ego rides' in form of mental ilness symptoms.

Voices in my head insulted me, tried to detract from the Buddhist Way to Liberation & Enlightenment, tried to stall progress, tried to goad to worse deeds.

It felt that i shared thoughts & feelings with other people's egos - who often used it with conscious intent to release anger on me, or to stall my progress so they won't have to worry about me surpassing them too early.

Recent insights offered me to teach me how to counter ego, using Yogin's as well as Monk's methods.

i've accepted offer - to defeat my own ego, as well as other people's egos.

i don't want to involve myself into other people's egos too far, but accepted studying & suffering under them for up to one week as a way of developing counters & lessons for them.

For the worst, exceptional cases - i've accepted studying & suffering for up to one month.

i made a wish that these counters & lessons are Enlightening, beneficial - i don't intend these as a means of revenge.

Wishes.

May all beings have happines and causes of happiness,

May they be free from suffering and the cause of suffering,

May they always experience true happiness, which is totally free from suffering,

May they remain in the great equanimity, which is beyond attachment and aversion.

Ego, Delusions, Stiff Ideas & Mind's Veils.

Introduction.

Every Buddhist has to defeat ego, on his or her way to Liberation & Enlightenment.

It's said by many wise that defeating oneself is far greater victory than defeating countless enemies.

Enlightened Mind can perceive it's own pure nature, without delusions, without mind's veils, without stiff ideas and without feeling of separation introduced by ego.

Ego.

Ego is: 'I'.

Without personal ego beings are Liberated, there's no personality that can be hurt, there's no mental barrier of separation between one and rest of beings.

Liberation is a state of mind in which all suffering and the causes of suffering are completely overcome.

Liberation happens through dissolving the false idea of presumed 'I'.

Once Liberated, mind's disturbing emotions fall away.

When the last stiff concepts are let go as well, then one becomes Enlightened.

Mind's veils.

Ignorance, confusion and delusions, as well as stiff ideas, as well as disturbing feelings & thoughts, are mind's veils to be purified before mind can perceive itself perfectly, before mind can be enlightened.

Unenlightened mind often thinks it's body itself and that's all that's real.

Unenlightened mind perceives world through it's bodily senses and through brain, it feels separate from others because of personal ego. Unenlightened mind's perceptions are impure, world's perceptions are distorted by various mind's veils - are delusional.

Enlightened One knows that he or she is Mind, and has impermanent body. This Mind lacks ego so it's both that it's nature as well as that it's perceptions are pure as well as perfect, there's no suffering or other hindrances in the Enlightened One.

Spirituality & Ego.

Introduction.

i think i read it before,

i think i read that as one grows in spirituality, ego feeds on it, is proud to be spiritual.

i think it's not truly spiritual way, however, to feed ego - even that way.

i think i read that after ego thinks: 'now, beside my other perfect qualities, i'll be also spiritual', the Buddhist Lama uses a trick to help student to defeat ego.

i could use Lama Ole Nydahl's wisdom in tricking ego into defeat for that.

Ego is an obstacle to Liberation & Enlightenment, should be defeated.

A true hero is someone who defeats own ego, instead of numerous foes.

i understand that my Buddha Dharma Wisdom is shallow still, i am still learning.

My goal is to be truly & deeply spiritual, without ego, without a shallow approach - but i do not know how, as of yet.

My goal is true & full Liberation & Enlightenment, without neglecting other ways too much, without neglecting non-buddhist friends.

Wishes.

i wish that i and all beings be happy altruists instead of suffering egoists - altruism is source of happiness,

i wish that i and all beings be truly spiritual, without shallow spirituality that only feeds ego,

i wish that i and all beings have meaningful lives & deaths, to inspire others with spiritual growth, to reincarnate better with time,

i wish that i and all beings reach Liberation & Enlightenment, as well.
