Sutra, Tantra & the Ways.

Sutra / Skt., Tib. do /.

Often called the Causal Way; on this path one stablishes, over a long time, the causes for enlightenment in order to recognize the characteristic of all things, their emptiness.

In its further meaning, literally 'guideline,' it is a term for the individual specific discourses of Buddha.

-- Quoted from 'Fearless Death' book by Lama Ole Nydahl.

Great Way / Skt. Mahayana, Tib. Thegchen /.

The way of the bodhisattvas, where one strives for enlightenment for the benefit of all beings.

Compassion and wisdom are deepened through study, analysis and meditation over a long time, and then expand into insight.

The Great Way sometimes is used synonymously with term sutra.

-- Quoted from 'Fearless Death' book by Lama Ole Nydahl.

Tantra, Buddhist / Skt. /.

A highly effective part of the Great Way in which identification with enlightenment and holding the Pure View are the most important methods;

Tantrayana / the Tantra path / has the same meaning as Vajrayana / Skt. Diamond Way / and Mantrayana / the Mantra path /.

The goal, buddhahood, becomes the way.

A fast way to enlightenment, but one that implies trust in one's own mind and a compassionate attitude.

-- Quoted from 'Fearless Death' book by Lama Ole Nydahl.

Diamond Way / Skt. Vajrayana, Tib. Dorje Thegpa /.

Also called Tantrayana and Mantrayana.

The highest level of Buddha's teachings, encompassing body, speech, and mind with goal of full enlightenment.

In this practice, the goal also becomes the path by using fast and profound methods.

These teachings can only be used with the perspective of seeing everything as fundamentally pure.

-- Quoted from 'Fearless Death' book by Lama Ole Nydahl.

Mantra / Skt., Tib. ngag /.

Natural vibration of buddha aspect;

Activates the Buddha aspect's power-field.

Many Diamond Way meditations have a phase where mantras are repeated.

-- Quoted from 'Fearless Death' book by Lama Ole Nydahl.

Need for Equanimity.

What is Equanimity?

'The fourth of the Four Immeasurables.

It means to remain free from attachment and aversion in a balanced and benevolvent state of mind'.

-- Quoted from 'Buddha & Love' book by Lama Ole Nydahl.

The Need.

Without equanimity, people cling to what's pleasant and avoid what's unpleasant.

As this develops, people want to take away money from those they consider uglier, and send them away - not caring what happens to them.

This is 'Give me your money and get lost' attitude.

Lack of Equanimity results in elitism, snobism, in competition for resources, and as this race continues - in oppression, social inequalities, in crime, terrorism and wars.

Modern people - as HH Buddha Dalai Lama teaches - should be more responsible and considerate.

Without Responsibility and Equanimity, world will have troubles surviving for future generations.

Equanimity should be practiced along with other of Four Immeasurables, i think, however.

a Prayer for a Nice Look & Fragrance.

... i've prayed to HH Buddha Karmapa 17th Trinley Thaye Dorje for a nice look & fragrance.

... to find employment, i need to look & smell nice, my apartment has to look & smell nice as well - that's requirement of my psychologist.

... i need to find work soon to get out of financial crisis and debts.

... i've prayed by lighting a candle on my makeshift buddhist altar, under Buddha's printed image.

... please meditate, wish, pray, cast spells, or do other spiritual practices for me, if You can.

Reducing on Esoterics.

A quote.

'Until recently most available spiritual books were unclear mix of anything exotic and New Age.

Only experienced teachers and their well trained groups could cut through such confusion effectively, protecting mental health, and saving precious time.

But these warnings to solitary practitioners are not the only possible cautions.

Once well embarked on an established road to enlightenment, there still lurk two misleading exits on the highway to enlightenment that are not easily recognized if one does not share growth with a group.

The first is a non-discriminating approach to the soft sciences, a seductive but dangerous exit.

Of course, after becoming Buddhist it makes sense to continue to use of skills like healing powers and a knowledge of astrology, at least as long as they are interresting and can be directed into a Buddhist context without confusing one's meditation or view.

But if in the process one forgets the ultimate goal, enlightenment for the benefit of all, a most precious opportunity is wasted and may not be found again for lifetimes.

The second slippery exit is the targeted attachment to warmly welcomed experiences.

Holding onto them or hoping for them to return can seriously block a person's development and, above all, scare bright people away.

Because all experiences are unfathomable and unsteady, the wish to repeat them always ultimately leads to discouragement.

Trying to carry along the milestones of the past and living in what once was not only mentally develops arms like a gorilla, but the habit blocks progress.'

-- Quoted from 'The Way Things Are' book by Lama Ole Nydahl.

Reduction.

Part of my way is esoterics, but recently it became too heavy burden, like a metal ball chained to legs that hinders progress.

When i tried to practice digital arts, mind states hindered me in that, trying to discourage - with insights explaining that it takes too much of time, which could be spent on esoterics.

Earlier i had to reduce on Martial Arts because of Esoterics, as well - even that Martial Arts are advised for those who practice Magick.

i prefer art & beauty more than power, so when esoterics hinders my progress in art - i have to resign.

i am reducing on esoterics, and on lessons from teachers of Buddhist Esoterics - like of Mira Boboli.

Esoteric Lessons put me into troubles - not only financial, and Art is far more important for me.

i won't let 'Art of Magick & Light' change into 'Way of Magick & Light'.

Speech Practice, including Artful Expression is the important part of Buddhism, which works on Mind, Speech and Body Levels.

Speech & Art are the Holy Practice, afterall - not only because Lessons are better transmitted with developed Art & Speech.

Thangka Art & Computer Sciences Aspiration.

... i am a buddhist, esoteric and scientist / mostly computer scientist / fascinated by Art.

i wish to support or help Thangka Artists, to learn, to create Thangka Art.

Thangka Art is the Holy Buddhist Art.

... first Mahakala Thangka Art, then Enlightened Love Thangka Art, then other.

Not only using Adobe Photoshop, but also using programming languages, graphics libraries & other tools.

... i wish to buy Adobe Photoshop when i can afford, and choose sane offer - not only price matters here.

... i wish to create static graphics, as well as animations and demo applications - starting from
two-dimensional, then continuing with three-dimensional art.

... i have idea of encoding layers in software created by me, i wish to use it, as well as other ideas that i'll find.

... i also wish to create Software for creating Thangka Art as well, that does not require programming skills from it's users, eventually.

04.06.2018 update:

... i've bought legally Photoshop CS6 on ebay, have full extended version now. :)

08.09.2018 update:

... i've bought on an internet auction, on allegro.pl, a 2-sided stylus / pl: rysik / for painting using smartphone. One side is more thick and comfortable when painting and filling with brush's flow, other side - hidden under ferrule - is more thin and precise.

... i've installed Adobe Photoshop Sketch painting software on my smartphone, as well.

... why i won't use tablet for now? there are more important expenses, and i do not wish to buy something of poor quality. i want a good quality android tablet with high resolution and comfortable size, with a fairly modern Android OS version, and this requires money that i don't have for now;
... so i prefer to earn first, then buy something of good quality when i can afford.

... i cannot afford to buy rubbish, i need something that will last for a while.

... for now, using an android smartphone - best of phones for this task that i already have is
Huawei P Smart - very good smartphone with good size, resolution and very good cameras - is adequate training & work tool for me; making photos is also Art, that can be used in other Arts, and Adobe Photoshop software is just perfect for transforming photos and creating Art that way.

... i plan to paint images using smartphone, stylus & painting software, then to import these as layers into Photoshop CS6 for absolute and relative positioning, for image integration, corrections, editing and for finishing touches.

... i've checked: Adobe Photoshop Sketch's .psd files can be imported easily to Adobe Photoshop CS6 via Adobe Creative Cloud.

... i've also checked: Adobe Photoshop's .psd files can be imported easily to Adobe Photoshop Sketch as well, either easily via Adobe Creative Cloud, or by copying file manually to a phone.

... i have troubles finding a good book, dvd, or online course for painting Thangka Art using these tools, however.

... i could use directions, and transmission for that.

-=- Adobe Creative Cloud. -=-

-=- Webspace with Resources. -=-

... i also wish to create other arts - not only Thangka Arts - as is Enlightening, Practical and Pragmatic.
