HH Karmapa 17th Trinley Thaye Dorje. | Ogyen Trinley Dorje. |
Introduction.
There's controversy regarding Karma Kagyu Lineage's Leader, holding the Karmapa Name.
According to our Sangha - in which i took refuge - True Karmapa is His Holiness Karmapa 17th Trinley Thaye Dorje, recognized by His Holiness Shamar Rinpoche & others.
According to another Sangha - True Karmapa would be Ogyen Trinley Dorje, recognized by His Holiness Dalai Lama and Tai Situ Rinpoche, by others as well.
Both have already been enthroned as 17th Karmapa, and both independently have been performing ceremonial duties in the role of a Karmapa. They have not met, though both have expressed a willingness and desire to meet.
Beru Khyentse Rinpoche holds a distinct minority view, saying he believes both Karmapas are legitimate. He states 'it is possible that there can be two Karmapas in order to benefit sentient beings because the Karmapa can manifest in many different forms' and writes that the 14th Karmapa highlighted that 'in many universes a hundred million Karmapas have manifested. The Karmapa is also the Buddha's emanation, thus until all the thousand Buddhas have come and their doctrine is not diminishing, my activity of the Karmapa emanations will not end.'

This blog author's approach.
While i try to be loyal to HH Karmapa 17th Trinley Thaye Dorje of our School & Lineage, i also try to be antisectarian and accept lessons from other Schools & Lineages.
Since a while i was approached by Bhutanese Monk from Ogyen Trinley Dorje's Sangha, we talked a little on facebook.
i hope that differencies about Leaders won't hinder our talks.
It might be possible in future for this monk & me to meet together.
i'll be honored by meeting a monk.
i hope i'll represent our Sangha with dignity & proper respect.
i think i should read 'Rogues in Robes' someday, i have this book in a Polish Language already.
